I know that I said I was going to splurge on some skincare as last week I had that terrible skin situation however, as if by magic my stupid face has righted itself and harmony has been restored, thank fuck. So I'm not going to aggravate it by shoving anything else on it, for now...
Plus, when shopping over the weekend I caught sight of my hair under some shop lights and decided it was time to dye my dishwater-like tresses. The thing with my hair is that its naturally 'rat-brown' similar to your mousy-brown but darker and nastier basically. For the last year or so I have been regularly using a permanent colour on average every 6-8 weeks or so, if I leave it any longer i get crazy rat-brown roots that make me appear bald and my hair starts to look like a wig.

This time around as my FOTH (fear of the hairdresser) is growing with every month that I havent been my hair is actually getting quite long, the last time I home-dyed I got myself in a massive panic as halfway through it looked as if I was running out of the dye and I had to mix in some water. This time around I bought 2 HAIR DYES and used them both, the result was much more even coverage and a really deep colour. I bought L'oreal Recital Preference in Palma, natural brown, Boots are doing a deal on 2 of these for £10. Good colour and I love the conditioner that comes with it as it leaves hair feeling really silky and shiny No more ratty-roots.

Because I felt a bit sad that I had to spend my weekly beauty treat budget on a necessity I did allow myself one tiny thing to ease the pain... I am not a massive fan of red lipstick as a rule, I think it makes me look a bit a drag-queeny however I really like these new matte-look reds that I have seen about at the moment. I bought a Revlon one - 005 Strawberry Suede which is actually really cute. The packaging isnt anything to go wild about but the lipstick itself goes on easily, is a good colour - almost pinkish but not too pink if you know what I mean.. It is definitely matte which looks great on but don't forget to blot it - nothing worse than an Olgd Gregg Clown mouth.
Having devoured both Vogue and Harpers in the last couple of days I am literally exploding with glittery and festive ideas for Yuletide make-up - there is SO much to choose from. I am going to select a couple of things to buy and try out and keep you posted. Top of my wishlist at the moment though has got to be some of these Mac glitter liners:

Vogue reccomend swiping red or gold over black (not pictured), I'm sold. Of course, there are a billion other things that I want so don't be surprised if the glitter falls by the wayside.
